Jean Shaw

Who’d have thought the son of a builder who’d been expelled from art school would go on to create one of the most successful satirical puppet series on TV?

Probably no-one.

However, that’s just what Roger Law who was born in Littleport in September 1941 did.

After leaving secondary modern school in Littleport at the ripe old age of 14, Roger went to the Cambridge School of Art (now part of Anglia Ruskin University).

He was expelled in 1959, but during his time there, he met Peter Fluck and together they produced the “Rubber News”.

However, in the hands of an ex Muppet director, the show soon took on a new name and hit the tv as the popular comedy series known as “Spitting Image”
