Littleport Harley-Davidson Connection

Whilst they were never built in Littleport, the Harley-Davidson motorbike has a strong English connection.

The father of the Harley founder member of the American company was actually born in Victoria Street in Littleport, before leaving for USA and fighting in the

American Civil War.

In 2003, many members of the Harley family travelled from USA to Littleport to celebrate the centenary of the Harley-Davidson company and meet their distant relations.

A permanent statue has been erected opposite St George's Church to commemorate the occasion.
