Littleport is a large village nestling in the rich and fertile fenland of east Cambridgeshire.

Whilst no longer a “little port”, the Great River Ouse running through the outskirts provides a haven for both boaters and anglers.

Littleport is also one of the few remaining rural villages with a train station, and as it’s on the main train line from Kings Lynn to London, this expanding village has excellent transport links to other parts of the country.

Within easy commute to Cambridge, with it’s internationally acclaimed university, colleges and hospital, Littleport also sits close to the historical city of Ely, renowned for its famous “Ship Of The Fens” cathedral dating back over 1000 years.

However, Littleport enjoys its own claim to fame in British history by way of the terrible riots of 1816.

In more recent years, the village has been connected  to the famous American motorcycle company Harley-Davidson.

Until recently, Littleport also produced garments for the internationally renowned Burberry company.

Sadly, the Hope Brothers Factory where the items were made has now been converted into privately owned residential accommodation.

Another point of great interest in Littleport is the beautiful St George’s Church.  This wonderful building was enlarged in 1857 but actually dates back to the 15th century
